Entertaining our Kids is Easy. Engaging them is Vital!
What is the difference between the two? According to Google definitions ....
Entertainment - The action of providing or being provided with amusement or enjoyment.
Engagement - The degree of attention, curiosity, interest, optimism, and passion that students show when they are learning or being taught, which extends to the level of motivation they have to learn and progress their skills.
I am striving to provide families a means of ENGAGING with their children through hands on play that invokes all of the above with a big emphasis on FUN and variety! I recognize the fact that we live in a world of electronic entertainment. I want more for our children. I have provided a Subscription/Gift Box that provides enriching activities that include multi-developmental skills in the vital years of Early Childhood. Each box contains a carefully chosen Children's Book with activities stemming from the theme of the book. There are always 1-2 toys/games/puzzles that are deemed developmentally appropriate by myself, an OT of 29+ years. As well, 2-3 crafts with included supplies, Sensory Play and often a recommended activity that includes kitchen time to be shared with caregivers. The boxes are best suited for children who are in the developmental range of 3-8 years of age. 
Who am I to determine what is developmentally appropriate?
My name is Connie, or "Miss Connie" to hundreds of children I have had the pleasure to work with over the years. I am a Pediatric Occupational Therapist of many years with over 18 of them devoted to working with children of all kinds of skill sets. I really am not much more than a kid at heart. My gifts may not be vast, but I do feel I was gifted the ability to relate to kids. I feel strongly they long to be heard and seen. Engaging (yep using that word again) with the children in your life will make an impact on them (and you) that will be cherished for the rest of everyone's lives. I want to make that easier for you to accomplish! So...I put together this box of goodies each month to share with all the families out there that long for the goals of skill and relationship building.
This Box requires no researching, no shopping at 3 different stores for supplies, no leftover items that clutter up cupboards. It even includes activity cards that guide you with instructions on how to use the included items and as well when appropriate ways to grade activities up for higher developed children and grade down for those that are at a lower developmental level.
How Does it Work?
Each month the Subscription "Cart" opens between the 1st-5th of that month. During that time you can become a "subscriber" and will be guaranteed a box each month going forward until you either cancel your subscription or HOLD it for whatever reason you may need. The boxes are then shipped out around the 10th of that month. If for some reason there are leftover boxes, they will go back up on my website on the 6th of that month to be available as a single or "one time" box great for gifts and/or those who want to test it out. They are a bit more expensive at that time as I want to give my subscribers the benefit of a better price for giving their trust to my little business.
